  • 1) Make windows safer by installing window screens or break up reflections using film, paint or string.

    2) Keep cats indoor. Each year, cats kill 2.4 billion birds in the US and Canada.

    3) Reduce Lawn, Plant Natives. Provide food and shelter that provide berries, food healthy insects.

    4) Avoid pesticides. Birds are harmed by eating contaminate contaminated seeds or prey. Purchase organic food and lawn care.

    5) Drink shade-grown coffee. Shade-grown coffee provides shelter for migratory birds.

    6) Use less plastic. Birds mistake plastic for food harming them. Avoid single-use plastics and recycle.

    7) Watch birds and share what you see. Join Cornell Lab's eBird or Project Feeder Watch to record you bird observations.
